Engagement settings: Risk scores

  • Updated

Summary

Risk scores combine multiple control point results to generate stronger statements about entries or transactions. Engagement-level risk scores inherit default settings from the library, but can be adjusted in the engagement settings to tailor analyses based on your needs and methodology.

Risk scores are organized within distinct risk groups. MindBridge provides several preset risk groups, but you can also create your own custom risk groups to help you organize your risk scores.

Learn about managing risk scores in the engagement settings below.

Tip: Learn more about risk scores and how they are used in MindBridge.

Configuration details

App Admins may restrict how much control you have over adding and removing control points and accounts within risk scores, as well as adjusting their unique weights and settings. Depending on which settings have been restricted, certain elements may be removed or read-only.

Note: You will have to re-run analyses for risk score changes to take effect.

Go to the Risk scores tab

  1. Select the logo in the MindBridge sidebar. You will go to the Organizations page.
  2. Select View in line with the organization you want to see, or click anywhere in the row. You will go to the Engagements page.
  3. Select the settings icon ( Settings icon ) to the right of the desired engagement. You will land on the General settings tab on the Engagement settings page.
  4. Select the tab for the analysis type you want to see.
  5. Select Risk scores in the left-side menu. You will see lists of risk scores available within the engagement.
Tip: If you are already in an engagement, select Settings ( Settings icon ) within the sidebar, then go to Engagement settings. Select the relevant analysis type tab, then select Risk scores in the left-side menu.

Search and filter for risk scores

Search for risk scores

Enter the name of the risk score you want to find (in part or in full) in the search bar, then press enter/return on your keyboard or select the magnifying glass icon ( Search icon ) to conduct the search.

Filter for risk scores

Each risk score can be applied to specific accounts. Use the Account filter to find risk scores that impact specific accounts.

Risk scores are organized into risk groups. Use the Risk group filter to find risk scores that impact a specific risk group:

  • Overall scores (MindBridge score)
  • Preset risk groups
    • Assets assertion scores
    • Liabilities and equity assertion scores
    • Profit and loss assertion scores

  2. Open the more actions menu ( More actions menu icon ) to the right of the risk score name.
  3. Select Edit. A form window appears.

Update the control points included in a risk score

  1. Select the Control points field to expand a list of available control points.
  2. Check the boxes next to the control points you want to add, or enter the control point with your keyboard then press enter/return.

Finalize your changes

  1. Provide a reason for the change(s) in the last field of the risk score settings form.
  2. When you are satisfied, select Save. New control points will be highlighted in blue and will have a default weight of 0.

Adjust control point weights

Note: Review how MindBridge uses control point weights before adjusting them. The weight of each control point is unique to each risk score. For example, adjusting a control point within Assets assertions > Existence will not impact the control point weight of the same control point that appears in Assets assertions > Rights and obligations.
  1. Drag the slider in line with the control point to an appropriate weight, or input a value from 0 to 100 in the number field.
  2. When you are satisfied, select Save to apply your changes. A form window appears.
  3. Enter the reason for each change.
  4. When you are satisfied with your rationale, select Done. Your changes will be applied and you will go back to the Risk scores page.
Alternatively, select Cancel to go back without applying your changes.

Select Discard changes any time to discard your unsaved changes and go back to the Risk scores page.
