Summary
Learn how to create risk-stratified and random samples for your audit plan from the data table.
Learn how MindBridge generates samples
Note: You must have run a successful analysis before you can create samples.
Go to the Data table tab
- Select the logo in the MindBridge sidebar.
You will go to the Organizations page. - Select View in line with the desired organization, or click anywhere in the organization row.
You will go to the Engagements page. - Select View in line with the desired engagement, or click anywhere in the engagement row.
You will go to the Data page. - Select View Analysis in line with the desired analysis.
You will go to your default landing page within the analysis. - Go to the Data table tab.
Tip: If you are already in an analysis, open the Analyze menu ( ) in the sidebar and select the analysis you want to see, then go to the Data table tab.
Create a risk stratified sample
This sampling method uses risk scores to stratify the data in the data table.
- On the data table dashboard, use the View menu to select whether you want to create samples from Entries (default) or Transactions.
- Open the Actions menu near the top-right of the page.
- Select Create sample.
A pop-up window will appear. - Open the Sampling Method menu and select Risk Stratified.
- Select the Audit area(s) you want to include.
You can choose as many as you need. - Enter a name for your sample selection.
- Select the Assertion(s) for this sample.
- Enter the desired Sample size.
The risk levels below are populated automatically. - Select Generate statistics to see the scope and impact of the current sample.
A summary of the generated sample appears, as well as a chart showing the total debits and credits in the sample for each risk level. - When you are satisfied, select Add to audit plan.
All of the entries/transactions generated in the sample can be found in the Audit plan.
Create a random sample
This sampling method selects entries or transactions at random from the data table.
- On the data table dashboard, use the View menu to select whether you want to select samples from Entries (default) or Transactions.
- Open the Actions menu near the top-right of the page.
- Select Create sample.
A pop-up window will appear. - Open the Sampling Method menu and select Random.
- Select the Audit area(s) you want to include.
You can choose as many as you need. - Enter a name for your sample selection.
- Select the Assertion(s) for this sample.
- Enter the desired Sample size.
- When you are satisfied, select Generate sample.
A summary of the generated sample appears, as well as a chart showing the total debits and credits in the sample for each risk level. - When you are satisfied, select Add to audit plan.
All of the entries/transactions generated in the sample can be found in the Audit plan.
