Summary

Data connectors allow you to import all available data needed for an analysis at once.

Those with appropriate permissions in the financial management system can quickly and easily connect to a data source directly.

Learn how to connect yourself to a data connector, or get a client to connect directly while onsite.

Go to the Data page

  1. Select the logo in the MindBridge sidebar.
You will go to the Organizations page.
  2. Select View in line with the desired organization, or click anywhere in the organization row.
You will go to the Engagements page.
  3. Select View in line with the desired engagement, or click anywhere in the engagement row.
You will go to the Data page for that particular engagement.

Tip: If you are already in an analysis, simply use the sidebar to go to the Data page.

Set up a data source

  1. Open the Actions menu at the top of the page.
  2. Select Connect data source.
You will go to the Connect data source page.
  3. Select Connect myself.
  4. Select the institution you want to connect to from the menu, or select its icon.
  5. Select Next.
A new browser tab opens on your screen.
  6. Complete the authorization process for the financial management system you selected.
  7. When the authorization process is complete, close the browser tab and return to the Data page.

Configure the data

Note: You will have to perform the following steps for each analysis within your engagement.
  1. Go to the Data page and set up the analysis with the appropriate number of prior periods.
  2. Make any necessary changes to the analysis period.
  3. When you are satisfied, select Configure data source.

Note: The column mapping step is pre-mapped by default but will give you an opportunity to review the mappings and add any custom categories you would like.

Reconnect a data source

You may need to reconnect to a data source if you are past the authorization period and need to sync more data. A disconnected data source is indicated by a red disconnected label at the top right of the page.

To reconnect a data source:

  1. Open the Actions menu at the top of the Data page.
  2. Select Manage data source.
This will take you to the Data Source page.
  3. Select Reconnect in line with the financial management system you want to reconnect to.
Once the data source is reconnected, the red disconnected label will switch to a green connected label.

To sync data:

  1. Select the more actions icon (3 dots) in line with the analysis name.
  2. Select Configure data source.
  3. Select the connected data source.
  4. Select the files you want to sync.
  5. When you are satisfied, select Sync.

Disconnect a data source

Disconnecting a data source gives you control over when you wish to remove a connection to your client's financial management system. Disconnecting will not affect any data that has already been synced but will disable the ability to re-sync or sync new data.

To disconnect a data source:

  1. Open the Actions menu at the top of the Data page.
  2. Select Manage data source.
This will take you to the Data Source page.
  3. Select Disconnect in line with the ERP you want to disconnect.
