Summary
The Ratios dashboard displays financial ratios and their associated graphs, which can be used to explore the financial statements and assess the overall health of an entity.
Each MindBridge library provides a unique set of ratios out of the box, but you and your team can create your own custom ratios in the library, in the engagement settings, and via the Ratios dashboard.
Ratios are grouped by category. You can choose which ratios are shown on this dashboard by enabling and disabling ratios in the engagement settings.
On the Ratios dashboard, you can:
- Search for ratios
- Filter for ratios based on categories
- View ratios as they relate to various periods of time
- Create new ratios, export multiple ratios, and view and edit ratio settings
- Collapse and expand ratio categories
- View each ratio's name
- View details about a specific ratio
- Add annotations and comments to a specific ratio
- Export, duplicate, or edit a specific ratio
- Learn more about your clients with detailed graphs
- Toggle legend elements on and off, such as the time period or the expected range
Go to the Ratios tab
- Select the logo in the MindBridge sidebar.
You will go to the Organizations page. - Select View in line with the desired organization, or click anywhere in the organization row.
You will go to the Engagements page. - Select View in line with the desired engagement, or click anywhere in the engagement row.
You will go to the Data page. - Select View Analysis in line with the desired analysis.
You will go to the Analyze page. - Select the Ratios tab.
Tip: If you are already in an analysis, use the sidebar ( ) to open the Analyze menu ( ), then select the name of the analysis you want to see and go to the Ratios tab.
Search
- Enter the ratio name in full or in part into the Search field.

Press enter/return on your keyboard, or select the magnifying glass icon ( ).
The dashboard displays ratios that match your search criteria.
Filter ratios
Filtering ratios allows you to find relevant statistics quickly.
There are 3 ways to filter for ratios:
Filter by account
- Open the Account filter menu.
- Expand groups with the chevron icon ( ) to the left of the checkbox.
- Use the checkboxes to select:
- An account group: When selecting an account between levels 1 to 4, all lower-level accounts will also be selected.
- An individual account: These are the accounts at the most granular level (level 5).
- Expand groups with the chevron icon ( ) to the left of the checkbox.
- When you are satisfied, Apply your selection(s).
MindBridge filters on all selected accounts.

Filter by analysis period
- Open the Analysis period filter menu.
- Use the checkboxes to select the analysis period(s) you want to see.
- When you are satisfied, Apply your selection(s).

Filter by ratio
- Open the Ratio filter menu.
- Expand groups with the chevron icon ( )to the left of the checkbox.
- Use the checkboxes to select:
- Ratio category: When selecting a ratio category, all ratios within the category will also be selected.
- Individual ratio(s): Within each category, you can select one or several ratios to filter for.

Apply your selection(s).

View ratios on the dashboard
View by time period
Open the View menu near the top of the page and select whether you want to view ratios:
- By month
- By period
- By quarter
The ratios on the dashboard will update based on your selection.
View by category
Select the expand icon ( ) next to a category name to expand the section. You will see the category's ratios and corresponding graphs.
Show adjustments
If you have imported adjustments, reclassifications, or eliminations into your analysis, select the Adjustments toggle to view ratios with the adjusted values.
Use ratio graphs
Data points
Hover over data points on the graph to view additional details and gain more context.
Legend toggles
Ratio graphs use a distinct line for each time period included within the analysis. Select components in a graph's legend to toggle components on and off, such as a specific period of time, or the expected range.
Additional details
Select the info icon ( ) to see the ratio formula that makes up the graph.
Expected current period range
If the analysis contains 4 prior periods, you will see an expected range for each data point in the current period. This expected range is a prediction of current period values based on the trends present in prior periods. Points that fall outside of this expected range are highlighted in red.
Create ratios
You can create a new ratio on the Ratios dashboard, from the engagement settings, or from the library settings.
- Open the Actions menu near the top of the page.
- Select Create ratio.
A pop-up window will appear. - Enter a Name for the ratio.
- Select a Category from the menu, or enter a new category with your keyboard.
- Enter Additional details in the text box.

Add conditions (accounts, numerators and denominators) to your ratio as needed.
Learn how to use the ratio builder. - When you are satisfied, select Create Ratio.*
The ratio you created adds a new graph on the Ratios dashboard, with the title you gave your ratio.
View ratio settings
There are 2 ways you can see each ratio's settings, which include:
- The name of the ratio
- Additional information to contextualize the ratio
- The formula in use
From the information icon
Select the info icon ( ) beside the ratio's name to see read-only details about the ratio.
From the Engagement settings page
- Open the Actions menu near the top of the page.
- Select Ratio settings.
You will go to the Ratios tab in the Engagement settings. - Select the expand icon ( ) to reveal read-only details about the ratio.
Edit ratio settings
There are a few ways to edit each ratio's settings.
Note: Ratios will only be available for use in the engagement in which they were created. To apply a ratio across multiple engagements, select the Add Ratio to Library checkbox before finalizing your changes.
From the Ratio dashboard
- Open the more actions menu ( ) in line with the ratio you want to edit.
- Select Edit.
A pop-up window appears. - Adjust the ratio name, category, additional details, and conditions as needed.
- When you are satisfied, Save your changes.
Ratio changes will appear within the engagement.
From the Engagement settings page
- Open the Actions menu at the top of the page.
- Select Ratio settings.
You will go to the Ratios tab in the Engagement settings. - Select the edit icon ( ) in line with the ratio you want to edit.
A pop-up window appears. - Adjust the ratio name, category, additional details, and conditions as needed.
- When you are satisfied, select Update (or Create Ratio) to save your changes.
Ratio changes will appear within the engagement.
From the Admin section
- Open the MindBridge sidebar and select the Admin icon ( ).
You will go to the Admin page. - Select the Libraries tab.
- Open the Actions menu in line with the library you want to enter.
- Select View library.
You will go to the Library details tab. - Select the General ledger tab.
- Select Ratios from the menu on the left of the page.
- Select the edit icon ( ) in line with the ratio you want to edit.
- Adjust the filter name, category, additional details, or conditions as needed.
- When you are satisfied, select Update to save your changes.
Ratio changes will appear across any engagement using that library.
Duplicate ratios
Duplicate a ratio to manipulate it without impacting the original ratio.
- Open the more actions menu ( ) in line with the ratio you want to duplicate.
- Select Duplicate.
A copy of the ratio will appear on the Ratio dashboard.
Promote a ratio to a library
Ratios are available for use in the engagement in which they were created. Promoting a ratio to a library allows to you leverage that ratio across multiple engagements.
- When creating or editing a ratio, select the Add Ratio to Library checkbox.
- Once you are satisfied, select Update to save your changes.
Export ratios
There are a few ways to export ratios on this dashboard. The export is an .XLSX file containing 2 sheets:
- The ratio(s) displayed in graph format
- The data that makes up the graph(s)
Export a single ratio
- Open the more actions menu ( ) in line with the ratio you want to edit.
- Select Export.
Export multiple ratios
- Open the Actions menu near the top of the page.
- Select Export.
A pop-up window appears. - To select all available ratios, use Select all.
- To choose ratios to export, open the menu and use the checkboxes to select:
- Ratio category: When selecting a ratio category, all ratios within the category will also be selected.
- Individual ratio(s): Within each category, you can select one or several ratios to export.
- Select Export to export the ratios you chose.
Delete ratios
- Open the more actions menu ( ) in line with the ratio you want to delete.
- Select Delete.
A confirmation window appears. - Select Delete to permanently delete the ratio.
