Risk monitoring: Overview

  • Updated

Summary

The Risk monitoring dashboard provides comparative analytics between periods of general ledger data to help you keep track of significant changes in the data over time. Being able to efficiently characterize and explain where and why changes occur over time allows you to identify which aspects of the business have changed the most, and isolate unusual or unexpected patterns that may require further investigation or new control activities.

The Risk monitoring dashboard allows you to:

  1. Select the time frame or specific date ranges that you want to compare
  2. Use the filters to narrow the results displayed on the dashboard
  3. Select a risk score to see its most significant changes on the dashboard
  4. Select a category tile to see the most significant changes for the category
  5. Compare data by category or holistically
  6. Sort column data within the table in ascending or descending order
  7. Drill-down to relevant entries on the data table
  8. Add annotations and comments for yourself and your team
  9. Export the table with the given selections applied

Select date ranges to compare

This dashboard provides a table to compare risk scores, monetary values, and the number of entries across the given date ranges, and can reference up to 12 months of imported historic data.

Learn how historic data is used on the Risk monitoring dashboard

  1. Select the time frame of data you want to compare:
    1. Last two weeks: Compares data from the most recently imported week with the week immediately prior. Date ranges will be read-only.
    2. Last two months: Compares data from the most recently imported month with the month immediately prior. Date ranges will be read-only.
    3. Last two quarters: Compares data from the most recently imported quarter with the quarter immediately prior. Date ranges will be read-only.
    4. Custom: Allows you to select two date ranges to compare.
  2. For custom dates, open the date menu below each date range and use the calendar tool to select* start dates and end dates for date range 1 and date range 2.

*Note: For best results, select the same number of days in both date range 1 and date range 2.

Use the filters to narrow your results

Use the filter menus above the tables to narrow the results displayed on the dashboard and view details related to specific accounts, populations, etc.

Select Reset filter any time to remove all applied filters from the dashboard.

Summary data

View summary data by risk score

The first section below the filters provides high-level details about the most significant changes per category for each risk score in your engagement.

Open the menu at the top of this section, then select a risk score to update the dashboard.

View summary data by category

Below the risk score menu are category tiles for up to 10 data fields included in the imported file, such as Account ID, User ID, Region, etc. These category tiles display the most significant entries in the data per category (within the given risk score), including:

  • The categories with the most significant scoring changes for the given risk score. If available in your engagement, the MindBridge score is selected by default.
    • Note: These tiles may not represent all categories available for comparison within the analysis. If you have more than 10 categories of data, you can access comparative analytics for them using the category menu in the comparison table below.
  • The entity with the most significant change in risk score for a given category, within the given risk score. For example, in the image below, the "Region" category indicates that the state of Kentucky saw the highest change in risk.
  • The risk score percentage (%) change between date ranges 1 and 2.

Select a category tile to update the comparison table below and see changes for the given category, within the given risk score. The selected category will be reflected in the category menu in the table.

Alternatively, you can use the category menu within the comparison table to select any category from the imported data.

You can export as many configurations of the comparison table as you want. Each export will capture the filters and categories applied to the table at that point in time.

Select the export icon ( Export icon.svg ) located in the top-right corner of the table. The file will appear in your computer's default download location.
