While appending an account grouping, the following error message appears:

The delimiter used in the appended account grouping does not match the existing delimiter. Update the appending file to align with existing delimiters, then re-import it to try again.

What does this error mean?

We are only able to have one delimiter per account grouping. In order to successfully append the files, the delimiters must match.


Either the current account grouping, or the new appending file must be updated so that both files use the same delimiter. The delimiter can be modified by exporting the account grouping and changing the character in the Delimiter field. Example below where the Delimiter field is in cell B3:
