Symptom
The following error appears when trying to create an account grouping.
The {accountName} account contains inconsistent Balance Sheet and Income Statement mappings.
What does this error mean?
This is a damaging account grouping issue that happens when the higher-level account is specified (i.e., the account level has other levels of accounts nested beneath it), and its nested accounts contain MAC codes that appear in both the income statement and balance sheet. This damages the Financial Statements tab, since that L1 account appears on both reports. Therefore, the account grouping is not valid.
Resolution
Check the account grouping file for any higher-level account (L1, L2, L3) MAC codes that are repeated in both the income statement and balance sheet. These MAC codes need to be updated.
