Summary
This guide will cover the process of importing a QuickBooks Online general ledger into MindBridge.
Notes/Prerequisites
The general ledger column mapping section of this guide is based on data that has been exported using our QuickBooks Online Journal Export guide and formatted using our QuickBooks Online Journal Transformation guide. Note that the QuickBooks Journal cannot be ingested into MindBridge without first formatting it.
Import data
- Import your general ledger file into MindBridge through the File Manager, or by importing directly to the General Ledger section on the Data page. For step-by-step instructions, follow our Import a general ledger guide until the Map Columns step.
- Map the QuickBooks fields as follows:

* Optional columns, even if not used in the analytics, can be included for filtering and other visualizations, as indicated under Notes.
Transaction ID Generation
Since the transaction number field is not mandatory in QuickBooks, it is quite common to find that transactions in the Journal do not have a transaction number. We can use the fact that the journal groups transactions to our advantage however, by using the Custom Running Total feature within MindBridge. This will allow us to generate a new transaction ID.
Continue the import of the general ledger until you reach the Review Data: General Ledger step. In the Select Transaction Identifier drop down menu, select Custom Running Total and in the second drop down select Date:
Click Generate Preview to see a preview of the transaction length summary.
