What does the error mean?

The error occurs of an uploaded Opening Balance or Closing Balance file contains a duplicate value(s) within the mapped Account column.

Resolution

Identify and remove all duplicate value(s) within the specified column.

Some common causes include the following:

  • Dataset contains balances from multiple fiscal years.
    • Remove those rows that do not pertain to the analysis period to which this balance file applies.
  • Account number needs to be qualified with something like a company code or a sub-account number in order to make it unique.
    • You can use the Join function in column mapping to do this. Please see How do I adjust my column data? for more details.
Note: You will need to do this across all files so the Account numbers in the Opening Balance and Closing Balance files match those found in the General Ledger and account mappings.
