Roll forward: Push data into a new or existing engagement

  • Updated

Summary

Being able to roll data forward is a critical part of accounting consistency and integrity. When you roll forward, all of your files get pushed back by one analysis period (for example, the current period data would appear in prior period 1, and prior period 1 data would appear in prior period 2, etc.) and the new current period will be ready for you to import data.

Rolling an analysis forward not only allows you to re-use account groupings, ratios, populations, and other settings, rolling all of your already-imported data into a new engagement can be a huge time saver since you will only need to import data for the current period.
