Caseware export: Use DBF format instead of DEL

Summary

Some organizations have general ledgers within Caseware, which can be exported from Caseware directly. The standard export format when exporting from Caseware is DEL (text delimited format). This article explains why leveraging the DBF format from Caseware is preferable to using the DEL format.

Resolution

The DEL format does not conform to CSV standards, and so may result in data integrity issues. For this reason we recommend exporting a DBF (database format) file, which is natively recognized by MindBridge and can be imported directly.

When you export general ledger data from Caseware, follow the same steps you normally would to export the data, but make sure to select DBF (database format) instead of DEL (Text delimited format).
