Append account groupings

Summary

Learn how to add new accounts to the end of an account grouping.
Note: When an account grouping is appended after it has been published, MindBridge automatically updates all engagements that use the account grouping. Existing accounts and mappings cannot be modified (such as being renamed) or deleted from the account grouping using the append action.

Configuration

You must be an App Admin to append account groupings. 


Go to the Account groupings tab

  1. Open the sidebar ( Sidebar_open-close_icon.svg ) from anywhere in MindBridge.
  2. Select Admin ( Admin icon ).
  3. Go to the Account groupings tab.
    You will see a list view of all the account groupings available in your tenant.

Note: Once an appending file has been imported, there is no way to remove appended accounts if they were added by mistake. If the appended accounts do not match accounts in the GL, they can be ignored and you can simply re-append the correct accounts by importing a different appending file, otherwise, a new engagement must be created with the correct account grouping.

There are 2 ways to append a published account grouping:

  1. Export an existing account grouping and append to it.
  2. Append a new list to an existing account grouping.

Export an existing account grouping and append to it

  1. On the Account groupings tab, open the Actions menu in line with the intended account grouping.
  2. Select Export grouping.
    The data exports as an .xlsx file.
  3. Open the file, add the new account grouping code(s) to the bottom of the list, and save your work.
  4. Open the Actions menu again.
  5. Select Append.
    A pop-up window appears.
  6. Select the Excel template to import with drag and drop or browse your computer.
    When you select the file to import, MindBridge begins importing and validating the Excel template. 
  7. When validation has completed, select Next to proceed.
  8. If required, select the appropriate MAC code(s), account tags, and/or industry tags.
  9. When you are satisfied, Publish the appended account grouping.

Append a new list to an existing account grouping

  1. On the Account groupings tab, open the Actions menu in line with the intended account grouping.
  2. Select Append.
    A pop-up window appears.
    Select Next to import the appended file.
  3. Select the Excel template to import with drag and drop or browse your computer.
    When you select the file to import, MindBridge begins importing and validating the Excel template. 
  4. When validation has completed, select Next to proceed.
  5. If required, select the appropriate MAC code(s), account tags, and/or industry tags.
  6. When you are satisfied, Publish the appended account grouping.
