Import additional data

  • Updated

Summary

Importing additional data is optional, but can be beneficial if you have split account numbers or created columns for filtering during column mapping, and would like to customize how those filter labels appear on the analysis results dashboards.

Go to the Data page

  1. Select the logo in the MindBridge sidebar.
You will go to the Organizations page.
  2. Select View in line with the desired organization, or click anywhere in the organization row.
You will go to the Engagements page.
  3. Select View in line with the desired engagement, or click anywhere in the engagement row.
You will go to the Data page for that particular engagement.

Tip: If you are already in an analysis, open the sidebar ( Sidebar open-close icon ) to go to the Data page ( Data page icon ).

Format the data

To ensure your filters are correctly labeled within MindBridge's analysis results, format the file into 2 columns:

  • The code
  • The descriptive label

In the example image below, there is a column for "Region ID" codes and a column that indicates the name of the corresponding region. Importing this mapping file would ensure that any occurrence of the code “2000” will instead be displayed as “Toronto” across the MindBridge platform.

Select files to import

Once you have added columns for filtering, the Account data section at the bottom of the analysis (on the Data page) will update to "Account and additional data" and any columns you have added for filtering will appear here, ready to receive files.

For example, if you added the "Company code" column for filtering, the analysis would then allow you to import a "Company code mapping" file to help make filtering more intuitive.

MindBridge supports several ways to select and import data.

Method 1: Drag and drop

  1. On the Data page, drag and drop files from your computer into the appropriate rows of the Account and additional data section.
  2. Once the file has loaded, select Continue import.
You will go to the first step in the import process.

Method 2: Browse your computer

  1. On the Data page, select Browse... in the appropriate rows of the Account and additional data section.
  2. Select Browse your computer from the menu.
  3. Select the file you wish to use and Open it.
The file imports into your analysis.
  4. Once the file has loaded, select Continue import.
You will go to the first step in the import process.

Method 3: Browse file manager

  1. On the Data page, select Browse... in the appropriate rows of the Account and additional data section.
  2. Select Browse file manager from the menu.
    A pop-up window appears.
  3. Select the file you wish to use.
  4. When you are satisfied, Import the file.
The file imports into your analysis.
  5. Once the file has loaded, select Continue import.
You will go to the first step in the import process.

Map columns

This step allows you to align the fields in your dataset with the MindBridge platform. Imported column headers appear beneath Your Data Column Headers

  1. Drag and drop a field from Your Data Column Headers to the appropriate field beneath Mapped Columns.
  2. When you are satisfied, select Next to proceed.
You will go back to the Data page.

To exit the mapping process, Close the page.

Additional data in your analysis results

Once you have run an analysis, your filters will display the code and label from the additional data that was imported.

Note: When filtering, if a column contains more than 10,000 unique values, you will not be able to import or apply an Additional data file, and the filter will only return values from the original file.
