Trends dashboard: Accounts receivable

Summary

The article talks about the trending dashboard for accounts receivable analyses.


Go to the Trends tab

  1. Select the logo in the MindBridge sidebar.
    You will go to the Organizations page.
  2. Select View in line with the desired organization.
    You will go to the Engagements page.
  3. Select View in line with the desired engagement.;
    You will go to that engagement's Data page.
  4. Select View Analysis on the desired analysis.
  5. Once within an analysis, select Trends at the top of the page.
    You will go to the Trends tab.

Tip: If you are already in an analysis, simply use the sidebar ( Sidebar_open-close_icon ) to open the Analyze menu ( Analyze_menu_icon ), then select the name of the analysis you want to see and go to the Trends tab.


Change the customer summary view

Use the Customer summary menu to pivot between:

  • Ending balances
  • Total net sales
  • Days sales outstanding
  • AR turnover ratio

The table and graph below update to reflect your selection.

Ending balances view

Displays the following columns:

  • Customer name: The customer name, with any that did not exist in prior periods marked as new
  • Related: Shows which customers are related parties, if available
  • Current period: The ending balance as-at period end, based on your analysis period for the current period
  • Prior periods (PP1-PP4): The ending balance as-at period end, based on your analysis period for the prior period
  • Variance: The dollar value change in the ending balance between the prior and current period
  • % change: The % change in the ending balance between the prior and current period

The Trend graph below the table displays the trend of total accounts receivable showing ending balances, which shows the ending balance of each month for all periods of data.

Total net sales view

Displays the following columns:

  • Customer name: The customer name, with any that did not exist in prior periods marked as new
  • Related: Shows which customers are related parties, if available
  • Current period: The total net sales based on your analysis period for the current period
  • Prior periods (PP1-PP4): The total net sales based on your analysis period for the prior period
  • Variance: The dollar value change in the total net sales between the prior and current period
  • % change: The % change in the total net sales between the prior and current period
  • % of total new sales: A customer's contributing percentage to the total of all net sales

The Trend graph will update to display the trend of total accounts receivable showing total net sales, which shows the total net sales of each month for all periods of data.

Days sales outstanding view

Displays the following columns:

  • Customer name: The customer name or ID, with any that did not exist in prior periods marked as new
  • Related: Shows which customers are related parties, if available
  • Current period: The days sales outstanding based on your analysis period for the current period
  • Prior periods (PP1-PP4): The days sales outstanding based on your analysis period for the prior period
  • Variance: The change in days sales outstanding between the prior and current period
  • % change: The % change in days in sales outstanding between the prior and current period

The Trend graph updates to display the trend of total accounts receivable showing days sales outstanding of each month for all periods of data.

Note: If a customer is not carrying a balance or there are no sales made during a period, no data will be displayed on the trend graph for that period.

AR turnover ratio view

Displays the following columns:

  • Customer Name: The customer name, with any that did not exist in prior periods marked as new
  • Related: Shows which customers are related parties, if available
  • Current period: The AR t based on your analysis period for the current period
  • Prior periods (PP1-PP4): The AR turnover ratio based on your analysis period for the prior period
  • Variance: The change in AR turnover ratio between the prior and current period
  • % change: The % change in AR turnover ratio between the prior and current period

The Trend graph will update to display the trend of total accounts receivable showing AR turnover ratio of each month for all periods of data.

Note: If a customer is not carrying a balance or there are no sales made during a period, no data will be displayed on the trend graph for that period.

Organize columns

Sort a column

Sort columns in ascending or descending order by selecting the column header. The darker triangle indicates the sort order.

Reorder columns

Click and drag the desired column header left or right into its new location.

Add and remove columns

Open the Columns menu on the right side of the table and check the box next to each column you want to display.

Pin a column

Pinning columns ensures they will stay in view when scrolling horizontally.

Open the menu on the column header you want to pin and select Pin Column, then choose the pin location on the table: LeftRight or No Pin (default). 

Drill down to the data table

Select the drill-down icon ( Drill-down_icon.svg ) on any row to go to the data table, which displays a filtered view based on your selection.

Use the Trend graph

Select and compare customers

The Trend graph displays the trend of total accounts receivable by default. To change this:

  1. Open the Trend graph menu.
  2. Enter or select one or multiple customers.
    The graph updates to reflect your selection(s).

If you select multiple customers, a trend line will appear for each. You can also compare a customer to the total accounts receivable.

Change the time interval

The Trend graph displays data in monthly intervals by default. To change this:

  1. Open the View menu.
  2. Select how you want to view the time period displayed:
    • By month
    • By period
    • By quarter

Chang the time window

The Trend graph displays data from all years of data within your analysis by default. To narrow the scope of the graph, click and drag the time slider to the range you want to see.
