Summary
The Annotations dashboard stores all of the annotations and comments your team has made on various components of the analysis. Once annotations have been added to the analysis, they will appear on the Annotations dashboard, allowing you to document and share insights with your team within MindBridge.
Learn how to view annotations and export them based on the following grouping methods:
- Graph annotations
- Financial statements annotations
- Audit assertion risk annotations
- Ratio annotations
Go to the Annotations tab
- Select the logo in the MindBridge sidebar.
You will go to the Organizations page. - Select View in line with the desired organization.
You will go to the Engagements page. - Select View in line with the desired engagement.
You will go to that engagement's Data page. - Select View Analysis on the desired analysis.
- Once within an analysis, select Annotations at the top of the page. You will go to the Annotations tab.
Tip: If you are already in an analysis, open the Analyze menu ( ) within the sidebar, then select the name of the analysis you want to see and go to the Annotations tab.
Overview
The volume of annotations added to the analysis can build up quickly, so MindBridge groups your team's annotations based on the component that the annotation was added to.
To see your team's annotations for a particular group, open the menu beside Annotations for and select one of the following:
- Graphs: Annotations compiled from graphs on multiple dashboards (excluding the Ratios dashboard)
- Financial statements: Annotations compiled from the various views of the income statement and balance sheet
- Audit assertion risk summary: Annotations compiled from the Audit assertion risk dashboard
- Ratios: Annotations compiled from the Ratios dashboard
View an annotation
Select the chevron icon ( ) to the left of the annotation name to reveal details about it. You will see the analysis visual that was being annotated on above, and the annotation and any comments below. If a filter was applied when the annotation was created, it will be displayed here as well.
Search for annotations
Use the search bar to to find annotations associated with specific terms.
- Enter your search terms (in part or in full) into the Search field.
Note: The term must appear within the annotation name or the description. - Press enter/return on your keyboard, or select the magnifying glass icon ( ).
Use the X icon to delete your search and revert the table to its default view.
Filter for annotations
Filters can help identify groups of annotations. You can use the filters in isolation, or select multiple filters to further narrow your search parameters. Use the filters above the table to filter for annotations within each component group.
- Open the desired filter menu.
- Enter or select your desired filters.
- If needed, Apply the changes.
The table reflects your selection(s) immediately.
Select Cancel within a filter menu to discard your selections and go back to the audit plan.
To clear applied filters from the table, select Reset filter. You will see the full list of annotations, per component.
Organize annotations table columns
Sort the contents of a column
Select the Status column to organize the annotations on this page by status. You can see the column's contents in ascending or descending order, as indicated by the dark triangle.
Reorder columns
Click and drag the desired column header left or right into its new location.
Add and remove columns
Open the Columns menu on the right side of the table, then use the checkboxes to add and remove columns from the table.
Pin a column
Pinning columns ensures they will stay in view when scrolling horizontally.
Hover over a column header, then open the menu ( ) and select Pin Column, then choose the pin location on the table: Left, Right or No Pin (default).
Graph annotations
Graph annotations are compiled from the following dashboards:
- Financial statements (graphs only)
- Trends
- Prior period comparison
- Risk overview
- Audit assertion risk (graphs only)
View annotations
Use the chevron ( ) next to the annotation you want to see. to display the graph or chart, the annotation, and any added comments. If a filter was applied when it was created, it will be displayed here as well.
Export annotations
Select Export on the right side of the row containing the desired annotation to export it.
To export multiple annotations, check the boxes in line with the annotations you want to export, then select Export selected.

Financial statement annotations
Financial statement annotations are compiled from the horizontal and vertical views of the Balance Sheet and the Income Statement on the Financial statement dashboard.
View annotations
Use the chevron ( ) next to the annotation you want to see. The account that the annotation was made on is highlighted in the table and the annotation is located beneath it.
Export annotations
Select Export All located at the top right corner of the page to export the financial statement annotations.
The financial statement export contains a sheet for each view of the financial statement that had annotations to give you a holistic view of your annotations.
Audit assertion risk annotations
Audit assertion annotations are compiled from the Account risk by assertion table.
View annotations
Use the chevron ( ) next to the annotation you want to see. The specific row of the account risk by assertion table that the annotation was made on is highlighted and the annotation is located beneath it.
Export annotations
Select Export All located at the top right corner of the page to export the audit assertion risk annotations.
Ratio annotations
Ratio annotations are compiled from annotations made on library and engagement ratios.
View annotations
Use the chevron ( ) next to the ratio name you want to view. The annotation will appear beneath the graph it was made on.
Export annotations
Select Export on the right side of the row containing the desired annotation to export it.
To export multiple annotations, check the boxes in line with the annotations you want to export, then select Export selected.
