Library management: Ratios

Summary

After creating a new library, use MindBridge's ratio builder to create your own financial ratios.  

Ratios consist of account groupings, algebraic operations, meta values, and constants.

Learn how to create, view, edit, duplicate and delete custom ratios.

Note: Ratio settings are only available in the general ledger, general ledger (NFP), and general ledger (NFP fund) analyses.

Configuration details

You must have access to MindBridge as an App Admin to manage library ratios.


Go to the Ratios tab in the library

  1. Open the MindBridge sidebar ( Sidebar_open-close_icon.svg ) and select the Admin icon ( Admin icon ).
    You will go to the Admin section.
  2. Go to the Libraries tab.
  3. Open the Actions menu in line with the library you wish to view.
  4. Select View Library.
    You will go to the Library details tab on the Libraries page.
  5. Go to the analysis type tab you wish to create a ratio for. For example, General ledger.
  6. Select Ratios in the menu on the left.
    You will see all of the pre-built and custom ratios in this section.


Create ratios

  1. Select Create Ratio near the top of the page.
    A pop-up window appears.
  2. Enter a Ratio name.
  3. Select a Category from the menu, or enter a new category with your keyboard.
  4. Enter Additional details in the text box.
  5. Add conditions (accounts, numerators and denominators) to your ratio as needed.

  6. When you are satisfied, select Create Ratio.
    The new ratio is added to the library.
Note: Ratios created in the library will be available for use in any engagement using that library.

Edit ratios

  1. Select the edit icon ( Edit icon) in line with the ratio you want to edit.
    A pop-up window appears.
  2. Adjust the filter name, category, additional details, or conditions as needed.
  3. When you are satisfied, select Update to save your changes.
    Changes to the ratio should appear across any engagement using that library.


Duplicate ratios

Duplicate a ratio to manipulate it without impacting the original ratio. 

  1. In the Ratios section, select the duplicate icon ( Copy icon ) in line with the ratio you would like to duplicate.
    A window appears, populated with duplicated information.
  2. Name the ratio, change its category, add additional details, and make any other desired adjustments.
  3. When you are satisfied, select Create Ratio.
    The new ratio is added to the library.


Delete ratios

  1. Select the delete icon ( Delete icon ) in line with the ratio you would like to remove.
    A warning window appears.
  2. Select Confirm to permanently delete the selected ratio.
